PEPP005 – 2 – A bad luck test

This song was made back in 2005 and was the first track of a demo called “Midsommardans” (eng. Midsummer Dance).
I think there was somewhere around 30 copies made and all of them sold out at the Arvika festival in 2005.
A lot of the percussion in this track is made out of smacking and clicking mouth sounds, in other words, I had not that much to do back then..

This song was written and recorded back in 2004. I think it was maybe the third Otur track I had done but I had no idea of what Otur 
would turn out to be like. Originally ‘En Dinosaurie PÃ¥ Storgatan’ was as a part of a compilation I made out of chapter names from a book by Desmond Morris called (in Swedish) ‘Jag Och Andra Djur’ (eng. ‘Animal Days’). If you get a hold of it it’s worth reading and quite amusing.

I’m currently working on my second album and, as always when it comes to Otur, it takes a bit of time. So to keep you happy while you’re waiting we have an autumn surprise here for you!
Every Friday, starting tomorrow and then the following 11 weeks, we will release a new free mp3 for download here in the Otur-blog! All the releases consists of old and new previously unreleased songs and will together form the new PEPP005 release.
So be here tomorrow (20th of August) at noon and get the 1st song of 12 unreleased Otur tracks!

New remix by Sophie Rimheden and live gig at aFOREST in Gothenburg

I’m going down to the west coast next week to play at the club aFOREST in Gothenburg. aFOREST is a project to help collect money for planting trees in the city of Gothenburg. I love trees. 
So of course I’ll play at the club and I hope you all can come and support this nice project. The club is held at Jazzhuset every Thursday during July and the first week in August. I will perform on the 15:th of July.
I will also do some dj:ing at Samfundets club in Gothenburg on the 16:th of July. Visit their Facebook event for more info.

I was looking through some old files on my computer and found an old hit I made with Rebecka Cuvért back in 2005 or so. It sounds a bit amateurish and the quality sucks but the song was never mastered and it’s just an old mp3. I did what I could with it.

Favourites of November ‘09

I’ve been thinking for a while that I should put together a Spotifylist with my favourite songs of the month, but I’ve never really made reality of my thoughts. But then it turns out a good friend of mine (who actually works at Spotify) had already done this, bit in his case it’s a weekly list of his favourite songs. I’d never manage to do weekly lists, I’m far to lazy for that so here is my favourites of November 2009:
